* Our Girl ©RUMBLES *

I'd like to introduce to my fellow bloggers, Crumbles. She got her nickname from her loving father because when you hold the little girl up she just falls into herself and crumbles up into a ball and she always holds her hands and arms and just loves resembling a ball of flesh. For those of you that have seen her, you all have witness that she resembles a 9lb burrito because of the forces we use to save her from herself and her extremely long hands and arms.

.
Our little girl is very very girly. Everything about her is feminine and she is very reactionary =) She is so easy going and just pleasant to have around but when she wants something there is no build up...just REACTION. She needs to have things just right or she ain't havin it. No clue where she gets that =)

.
She has started to focus on us and follows our eyes with hers. Roxy smiles and talks when you pay attention to her. One way she smiles is by opening her mouth really wide and she loves doing it. This little girl loves loves loves to cuddle and snuggle. Any kind of attention pleases her and she loves to pay attention to the things around her as well. She loves sitting up and looking around and just be apart of whatever is going on around her. She never misses a minute.
We love our little Baby Roxy so much and we feel so blessed to have her apart of our family. She already brings so much happiness and joy into our home and our hearts.

Our Baby Girl Is Here!!!!
The day finally came and little Roxanne Lynn Higgins was brought into this world. The week leading up to it was a crazy one! My doctor started becoming concern with her becoming too large for me so I was sent to get a few ultrasounds done to get the fetal weight. On Monday the 13th, I was told that she was 8lbs 3oz so my doctor set up for me to be induced on Wednesday the 15th. I was set and ready to go! I was way excited to have Tuesday to get totally prepared and know that Wednesday was THEE day. So Tuesday morning Lance got up for work early and kissed me goodbye and I then got up to go to the bathroom and bing bang boom, my water had broke. Long story short, I called Lance and he came back home and drove me to the hospital.

We got there and they did a test making sure that it was really my water that broke and then they wheeled me into the delivery room and we were getting set up for the big show! It all went VERY quickly. From getting to the delivery room to pushing it was about 5 hours. She was ready to come and I had NO problem with that. Everything was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better labor. The only thing that made it hard was in between pushing...I was throwing up. Surprise Surprise!!! I threw up for the entire 9 months so why on earth was I surprise that this wouldn't end with me throwing up? I pushed on through and then...she was here.

Emotional. That is the best word to describe the next hour of meeting my daughter. I had never felt so many emotions at once. There was love, exhaustion, amazement, relief, worry, happiness, the list goes on and on. She was perfect. So precious and small and we were in love. She was born at 5:06pm and weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 inches long, We named her Roxanne Lynn Higgins. We picked out Roxanne when we were 17 and 18. At the time, we were into the movie Moulin Rouge and they sing the song Roxanne and we both really liked the name and put it on our Kids Names List when we would dream of us getting married someday. Lynn came from my name (Brittany Lynn). My middle name came from nowhere so I thought I'd give it some meaning =) With that, we present our little Roxanne Lynn Higgins

I'm A Big Kid Now...

It has been awhile since I've blogged it up and I figured I better do it now before I become obsessed with my new toy (Roxy). So...once again, the Higgins are on the go so I will break it all down to make it easier for the reader and author =)
SCHOOL
Well my dear little Lancey Pants pour his heart and soul out into his portfolio and getting good grades and did not end up getting accepted in the advance placement program at Cal Poly Pomona. He is still on the waitlist to get into the Architect Program but we were trying to shoot a little higher. As a little time has passed, we have realized almost what a blessing it is that he didn't get in because of the other things that are currently taking over our lives that I would not be able to work out on my own. The program is very demanding of the students time and he would be enrolled right now and school would come before work and with where our goals are set and our circumstances, that would make things very difficult so we know this is how it is supposed to be.
WORK
Lance is just one amazing man. He recently got a promotion at his job and is just becoming studlier and studlier at his firm. I am amazed at how hard he works and how brilliant the guy is. Cal Poly has no idea what they are losing but with his time opening up since school is not such a pressure right now, he just keeps getting higher and higher on the food chain. What a stud. As for my work, I'm still cuttin hair and renting a station. The owner of the salon is awesome and very accommodating to my needs so after the little girl arrives we are going to figure out what my clients needs are and how often I'll need a station. My first priority is to be a mom so I'll have my little group of clients and make it work so Lance is home and I can run away for a couple hours and help bring in a little here and there.
HOUSE
Since prices for homes are so low right now, we started looking into purchasing a little home for ourselves. Just so happens, there is an awesome program in certain cities that help first time home buyers to get into a house so we have taken advantage of that. We just put down an offer for a cute 3 bedroom 3 bathroom home in Corona and we are in a bidding war so we are holding our breaths and saying LOTS of prayers. We are still looking at houses just in case and found another home we'd like to put an offer on but our hearts are currently set on this first one!
FOXY ROXY
I have about 3 weeks left and I went to the doctor today and she said I'm dilated and her head is down!! Then she said, "I think you are going to be like me." So I had to ask, "In what way?" And she said, "I delivered 3 weeks early and then 2 weeks early." Holla for a dolla! Music to my ears! So, she was saying walk, walk, walk and do my part to keep the ball rollin! We spent this weekend setting up her crib and changing table and jamming it into our little one bedroom apartment. Our lease is up the end of August so we have to sit tight till then and hopefully we'll have a nice little home to stretch our legs in and raise our little family!

<3 This One Goes Out To The Man <3

I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!
Right now I just feel extremely lucky to be blessed with such a great husband so I am going to let the world know! As most of you know, I am 31 weeks pregnant and starting to get down to it and this has not been an easy pregnancy from the get go but Lance Nolan Higgins has been a saint through it all. He is constantly on the go with work and school and yet he still finds the time to take care of me and help with anything he can. Whether I am craving a slurpee from 7-Eleven or have a blanket on hold that has to get picked up, Lance is always there to help. This past weekend I got a killer cold and my body decided to go back to rejecting food so I was goner but my Bubs stayed with me through every moment of it and took care of me without complaint or hesitation. I am constantly amazed by how well balanced he stays with everything that is required of him daily. I am awed by his success as an employee, a student, a husband, and a soon to be father. I love Lance Higgins with all my heart and soul.
Who couldn't love this face =)

Three B's - Beach, Baby Shower, Bryce's Baptism!

What a week of events!!! My previous post and this post is from the same week so lets just say it was the best of times and the worst of times. Now that we're out of that week and took care of some business, looking back on it there were alot of great events and it was so nice to be with the whole Carter Clan and I'm ready to talk about the best of times!

To begin our fun filled week, we went to the BEACH!!!! Little did we know it was the beginning of that heat wave so we picked a good day to go. Brooke, Shoosh, Bubble, and I packed up and spent a couple hours at the beach and enjoyed the California life. Unfortunately, this was the event that gave me my cozy sunburn but now that it is all healed up I am enjoying a little color. (Pregger bathing suits are quite the head turner<3)

So my wonderful Mother, Mother In Law, and Sister put on the cutest shower!!

Thank you! You guys are the best! I Love You! It was a ton of fun and everything was PINK!! It was so nice to hang out and enjoy baby stuff together! Thank you to everyone that came and shared their love and laughter! We really appreciate all of the love and support.

Just a couple pictures from the shower. I didn't even think to take pictures so I'm grateful for whoever got the ones that I do have =) Thanks again!
.
Where did my little brother go?!?!

I cannot believe how fast time has flown and how old this kid is. At the end of this event filled week my little brother Bryce was baptized!! It was awesome to be a part of the baptism and watch our little little brother get older and older and become a member of the church. It was also so nice to be able to get together with the whole Carter Clan and enjoy the experience together. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a great family that has so much love and faith in eachother and the gospel. I Love You All!

... What A Week ...

Well it has just been one of those weeks. There hasn't been a dull moment yet and I am glad this week is almost over!!

First off... Lance got a letter from Cal Poly Pomona telling him he is put on a waiting list and to turn in a portfolio of all his work! Way exciting...the kicker...they gave him a week to do so. Luckily he has been playing around with some buildings ahead of time so we were lucky in that sense cause he was prepared for this. We have spent probably 2-3 hours together this week, he hasn't slept much or ate much, and our future literally lies all on this and thats pretty spookie ookie.

Then my sister and her kids are in town which is SOOO much fun so we decided to take them to the beach!! For some reason this week decided to be extremely hot and I never put on suntan lotion and we were only going to be there for 2 hours anyways but I decided I should put some on. Shocker shocker there is no protecting my white skin so I got fried on my neck, shoulders, and feet. I don't know how other people are with sunburns but it just messes me up. I can't sleep. I can't relax. I can't be normal. Bad week for the first summer burn.

And then what is a bad week without a little car trouble? First my car has been freaking out and the engine light will come on then turn off and then make funny noises so thats always good news. Then with Lance's crazy hours of working, schooling, doing his portfolio, and trying to find time to eat and sleep he doesn't have much time to fall behind or miss literally a minute of his days especially when he has to put in X amount of hours at work so it really didn't help when he put in a late night of portfolio stuff and had to wake up early and get to work and find he has a flat tire. Another nice bill to add to the pile =)

That is the week of the Higgins'. Luckily these are just day to day everyday life problems and complaints that will clear away sooner or later and for that we are extremely grateful. Sometimes pregnancy emotions get the best of you and it feels like you just can't gain control of what direction you are going.

Our Baby Girl and Her Name...

As most of you already know we are having a little girl! Lance and I have had our kids names picked out since we were 17 and 18 years old and for a little girl we picked out the name Roxanne but we would call her Roxy. We totally love the name and she seems like a spunky little chick so we feel it'll work out BUT there is one problem with this....

I AM GOING TO GO BROKE!!!!!! I didn't even know they had Roxy clothes for babies! So far I've found baby sizes at Macys and Nordys and they are just to die for. They are so cute and great quality but I just can't justify spending so much for an outfit that will be quickly grown out of and destroyed by our little girl. It is quite the dilemma but I know eventually I'll give in to the temptation of buying her a $40 Roxy swimsuit just so she can have her name on her cute little behind =)
